Community Support for 2020 Born to be Wild Auction and Dinner a Virtual Success!
The 18th Annual Boys & Girls Clubs of Thurston County Born to be Wild Dinner & Auction held virtually Sept. 25, 2020, looked quite different but that did not stop community members and friends of BGCTC from raising more than $400,000 for kids and teens in Thurston County. Long-time event attendees jumped on board this new special event format by hosting small watch parties at their homes and encouraging friends and others to bid on items using an online mobile bidding app.
This year’s event included online silent auctions in the week leading up to the live program on September 25, 2020. Highlights of the event included an exciting live auction hosted by regional television personality, John Curley; the giveaway of a brand-new Hyundai Elantra during the live-streamed event (sponsored by Titus Will); and a compelling Club impact story from Cathleen Doctor, this year’s Fund-a-Kid guest speaker. Watch Cathleen’s Club story here. If you missed the event, please consider a donation to Fund-a-Kid.
Event-goers brought the party spirit home by dressing in their Born to be Wild biker attire, keeping with tradition and history of the event’s roots at Northwest Harley Davidson.
This event was possible because of the generous contributions of Highway and Throttle Sponsors: Titus Will Automotive Group, TBG Holdings, FORMA Construction, and Heritage Bank. Special thanks is due to BGCTC volunteers who diligently serve the Born to be Wild Auction Committee and the organization’s Board of Directors.
